Researching Local History

Local history often takes a back seat to the textbook-style narratives utilized in our history classes. The following sites offer excellent resources for exploring community history. The first two are national in scope. Realize that the Wisconsin Historical Society (the third one) is nationally renowned and offers tremendous resources for local and regional history in our state. The Jackson County History Room, located at our local public library (the fourth link), has an outstanding collection of print and digital resources as well. Visit the library and take time to explore!
